Kansas Snow Geese

Each spring Ponderosa Outfitters Waterfowl Adventures makes the trek to central Kansas in pursuit of snow geese.  For those of you that have not experienced it, there is nothing in the waterfowl world like a tornado of snow geese funneling into your decoys.  Beginning in the last week of February, Snow goose hunts are based out of North Central Kansas.  This area is well known for huge population of geese that stage on the local lakes and reservoirs in the region.  Our primary lodge is located just inside the Nebraska State line. From here, our hunts are concentrated around North Central Kansas, and can extend north into Nebraska.  Since all hunts are conducted in the Conservation Season there is no bag or possession limit on light geese.  In addition to this, clients will be allowed to use unplugged shotguns and take light geese from one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset.

Over the years we have strived to maintain a mutualistic relationship between us and local farmers in the region.  These relationships combined with the ability to be completely mobile have allowed us to constantly put clients where the birds want to be.  For 2014 Spring snow goose season, we have again partnered up with the Crazy Woman Lodge out of Superior, NE to offer discounted, and extremely comfortable lodging.  Please see the links page for additional information on these lodges.
